What is going on with my tongue?

For starters, your tongue is okay! Before you drive to the nearest hospital, you should know that having a case of the vaper’s tongue is not fatal. Save the scuff from your doctor and the high hospital bill! Many people say that it’s an olfactory fatigue, and it is.

There’s no problem with your tongue. When you take a whiff of vapor, you’re really “smelling” it. You see, your sense of smell is the reason why you can taste your e-juice. It’s similar to getting sick with the cold. When your nose is clogged, you can’t taste anything you eat.

How to do you fix this issue?

If you’ve been going through forums upon forums, you might come across the tampon technique. Do not do it. It doesn’t work. Instead, try some of these tips:

1. When you exhale, moisture is released making you just a bit thirsty. So, when you’re going to vape, drink more water! While, it won’t cause an extraordinary amount of dehydration, it’s good to be on the safe side anyway.

2. Switch your e-juice from time to time. When there isn’t a lot of variety in your palette, this can cause a redundancy. Avoid it altogether and keep a good rotation of vape juice at hand.

3. Try menthol; it has a stronger flavor. Don’t compare these to the menthol cigarettes because they actually taste different. Give them a try if you really want to add flavor while going through vaper’s tongue.

4. Drink or chew on something sour. With strong flavors, it could open up your taste buds. This may or may not work for you, but some people have sworn to this advice.
